The Imperial Hotel’s garden & elevated position overlooking Torbay taken from the harbour wall.
Join us at this magnificent 19th century Victorian 4* Hotel overlooking Torbay and the beautiful Devon coast. The Imperial Hotel is one of Torquay’s top hotels enjoying a central location. The Harbour and the shops are all within walking distance of the hotel. (Due to its elevated position there is a short, steep hill leading to the hotel from the harbour). Peter will be accompanying this tour and organizing the trips out.
Today this hotel is a modern vibrant hotel with its own Spa & Gym including a beautiful indoor swimming pool.

Holiday Costs.
The Holiday prices quoted are for 4 nights, Dinner, Bed & Breakfast, 3 coach outings and return coach from Ardleigh House and are for 2 people sharing a room unless stated otherwise. (PLEASE NOTE there is no evening entertainment as the hotel will not allow it).
Our coach will be staying with us so we have arranged the following itinerary which is all included in the holiday price:-
DAY 1 We leave at 09.00am. As there are 2 different routes to Torquay, The route will not be decided until we can discuss this with the coach driver on the morning. We will, however, be making a long stop for you to get lunch on either route.
DAY 2 This morning we head onto the wild and rugged Dartmoor. A stop will be made at Buckfastleigh for a look around before we proceed to, what must be the strangest coach visit ever! More about this on the day. We will then proceed to the middle of Dartmoor where we have arranged a traditional Devonshire Clotted Cream Tea. No trip to Devon would be complete without a Devonshire Clotted Cream Tea and this one is all made from produce off the local farms around Dartmoor, so you cannot get more genuine than that!
DAY 3 Today will be free time to explore Torquay and the surrounding area.
For anyone interested, the coach will do a run to the nearby fishing town of Brixham for a short stay before returning to our hotel.
DAY 4, Today we are taking you to Dartmouth, a town steeped in history and famous for the Naval College which over looks the town. (It was here that a Princess Elizabeth met a Naval Cadet called Phillip and went on to marry him and she became Queen Elizabeth II). We will NOT go by coach but on the Dartmouth Steam Railway. Our coach will only take us the short journey to Paignton Station where we will board our train. Initially, the line runs along the coast, as you watch people playing on the beaches, before the line goes inland and then emerges onto the bank of the River Dart and proceeds along to Kingswear. Here we leave the train and board a ferry boat for the short crossing to Dartmouth. Then we board a pleasure boat for a 1 hour trip along the River Dart. Upon returning to Dartmouth you will have free time to explore Dartmouth. We will then return to our hotel by ferry and Steam train again.
DAY 5 Sadly, it’s time for us to leave Torquay. However, as we did on the way down, we will make a long stop so you can get lunch and have a look round but where will depend on which route we take back to Hornchurch on the day. We will aim to be back at Ardleigh House by 5pm.
PRICE INCLUDES YOUR RETURN COACH FROM ARDLEIGH HOUSE – ACCOMODATION ON HALF BOARD BASIS – DAY TRIP OUT EACH DAY – BUT, NO EVENING ENTERTAINMENT BY REQUEST OF THE HOTEL.
