Below we re-produce the notice we have received from the village of Thriplow.
It is with a very heavy heart that the Thriplow Daffodil Weekend organising committee have taken the decision to cancel this year’s event, following the continuing spread of the virus Covid-19 and some uncertainty as to how things will pan out over the coming few weeks.
This is a decision that has not been taken lightly and after careful consideration of all the factors involved with the event, we decided with deep regret, that it would be the most sensible to cancel – we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Although, the event is predominantly outdoors, there are areas where close indoor contact is unavoidable, such as our tearooms and craft marquees, which give rise to a significant risk of transmission.
The demographic of our visitors means we have a much larger proportion of people in the high-risk category and there have been concerns within the village of risks of infection, as many of our visitors and stallholders travel in from different parts of the country. It is our utmost priority to protect all those who visit and those involved with running the event.
We regularly send a Newsletter by email. It contains information on classes and upcoming trips.
